I believe we have enough experience by several members of IJCSA that we don't need this manual anyways. If each of us that are experience could just list the way we strip and finish, then anyone should be able to know the basics. Everyone I ever met that stripped floors have their on little techniques but the basics are the same. Perhaps each of the veterans in the floor stripping and finishing could post the steps or process they use. We could start a new thread Stripping and Finishing Guide. It will be in the "cleaning services" board under "floor care ".

I remember the first strip job I was ever on. It was a K-mart and they had about 15 people there to strip. They mixed up a 44 gallon container of stripper on a cart and rolled it to the front of the store. A guy leaned over to dip a 2 gallon pail in the container and it turned over. The boss was hollering at everyone. He looked at me and said , grab a squeegee. I said whats a squeegee? He pointed at one. I grabbed it and ran out onto the stripper and fell flat on my back. It felt like I was dying . But with all the pride I had left I got up and continued as if nothing happened . Later that night I was keeping the floor wet behind a guy running a stripper machine. He said he had to go to the bathroom and for me to run machine while he was gone. Man , was that wild. I got tangled up in my cord twice before I give it up . Looking back now , I bet he was hiding and laughing at me so hard that it made him really have to go to restroom ;D. I will never forget that first wild experiencing night. I was so glad to get it over. Hope you have a fun time on your first night , but try not to fall.

Lilly: Look in the old posts under floor care or the archives, Dan's post on detailed stripping instructions are there someplace.

Hey that book would be great I'd love a copy. Gary. Gene; Would you be interested in a cleaning tip manual. It's by Rochester it covers from clean a washroom to stripping and refinishing floors to burnishing, scrubbing auto scrubbing carpet-cleaning you name it's got it and it tells you exactly what the procedures are to take and what floor pads to use as well. That's a bonus....it's a definite for any floor care professional and the best part it is free. If you're interested, let me know and I can e-mail it to you. Cheers C.
