Okay, my client has stairs that have that rubbermatting from one side of the tread to the other. This is a pharmacy and experiences high traffic. They have asked me to perform another of my miracles and not only clean this rubber but give it a "newer " appearance. Obviously, the cleaning is relatively simple, but the other is not. Cannot use a product like Armorall as the slip and fall probabilities are high. I have seen a coat or two of finish recommended but I question that as well as it will have to be stripped off or scrubbed and recoated at some time. Does anyone else have some suggestions. COME ON DOWN DAN ;D ;D Bill

Sorry Bill . Without using a finish , I don't know what to tell you. I would put on very thin coat or two of finish with a towel/rag. Just enough to make it bring out a little shine. That way it would be fairly easy to strip off. Other than that , I would check with an automobile specialist and see if there is a rubber restorer. Anything you put on it may reduce the slip resistance. May consider having a client sign something to take liability of the end result.
