For those of you who clean carpet and those who clean residential and sometimes move out a couch to vacuum under it. I one time tried to move a very heavy couch. I decided to slide it over to clean the carpet underneath it. When I slid it , I noticed a rip in the carpet. The client had nailed a block of wood to where a leg had broke off. The nail had hung into the carpet. Opps!!!! We now always lift a couch to move. There is a neat tool called a Lift Buddy that easily lifts a couch up. Then we slide a small disk underneath the leg called an easy glide. Once all the legs have the easy glides under each leg it will slide very easy. Even a heavy couch will. With the Lift Buddy , one person can easily move a couch or recliner by their self. The Buddy Lift cost about $40 and the glides come in different sizes at very low cost. The Lift Buddy can also be used when putting blocks , foil or plastic under the furniture legs to allow carpet to dry before sitting them on it. This will prevent stain from the moisture in the carpet. This is a lot cheaper than repairing a carpet or going to doctor with a hurt back. www.jondon.com/catalog/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=lift+buddy&image.x=17&image.y=11www.baneclene.com/catalog/liftbuddy.html

Hey Dan,
It's funny, before I read your post I was just thinking about going to Jon-Don tomorrow and getting EZ Moves. They have set of smaller ones (4 pieces) and bigger ones (2 pieces). I'll probably get smaller ones for the beginning. Which ones do you have?

I like them to be 6 to 8 inches in diameter. The real small ones tend to come out from under the leg. Be sure to get a lift buddy while your there.
