Can you tell me how much do you charge for moving furniture before and after strip/wax job. Do you charge by hour or some percentage of floor job?
Thank you,
Terry

I charge by the job. I usually charge very high because we need a lot of time to strip and wax. I would rather the client move the items. So if it took a half hour for three people to move items I might charge around $150 or so. They usually decide that they can have employees move everything. Makes a job much easier.
I am doing a job this week end that requires us moving several small items that takes about an hour for three people to get moved . I do this place about 3 times a year. I charge them $250 for moving the items and they don't mind. So if you are going to spend the extra time to move things then make good money doing so. If I have to put it back then I charge the same for that also. I make sure they understand that if they move the items we will strip around anything they left and that it will leave a spot underneath those items.

I charge an additional 15-20% of the job cost based on the volume of furniture to move. I've never had an upset client with this.

Shifting appliances in your home is not all that different from moving furniture in your living room, save for the fact that in the kitchen, you'll scratch the heck out of tile or fake linoleum if you aren't careful. Assuming you're in a money-saving, do-it-yourself frame of mind.

f you have a piece of furniture that you either want to bring with you on a cross-country move, or that you are selling to another person who lives on the other side of the United States, you are probably wondering how to cost-effectively ship these items.

According to Home and Garden TV's "Trash to Treasure" host Rob Whittlef, you might need to get rid of excess furniture when you can no longer access your garage or you plan on moving or re-doing a room. If you find that your situation necessitates selling furniture, it can be difficult to determine the appropriate price for it.

Moving from one home to another can be an expensive proposition, whether you hire professional movers or try to do it yourself. Various factors, including the size of your new and old homes and the distance of your move, can affect the price.
