Can someone please define the term '5th generation carpeting'?

5th generation carpet usually refers to nylon. It has had 5 different release stages. The first couldn't hide soil The second could hide soil but had bad static The third fixed the static problem The fourth, started to be treatedwith flurochemicals for stain resistants The fifth and final had inbuilt properties in the yarn to become resistant to acid dyes (common house hold stains)
