I was chatting with a UK carpet cleaning service, they informed me that most everybody uses portables because the amount of slope on hills, that the pressure from the van mounted systems do not work properly, is this true.

Yes that is a good point.I have a truckmount, but to be honest i find myself using a portable most of the time. You also have the issue of parking 7 out of ten jobs you just cannot get close enough to use a truckmount without having your hoses laying accross roads etc.In theory truckmounts are excellent but in theory just not very practical.

We have run hoses straight up 3 stories without too much loss. Going down however is a different story, the further you go the more power you need to lift the water. We will use a portable over 400 ft from the truck, after 300ft the suction loss is quite obvious but we carry 400 so we use it.

W.M. Pro 1200 w/vulcan in ford E-350. I don't know the temp. When we first put 400 in it I think we got 210. That was out in the parking lot in front of our warehouse. I had to send another van with hose to a condo where we ran 600, our tech said it worked ok with a drimaster but not so good with a 13.5" wand. In the future we will buy only cds 4.8's and vortex.
What do you run and what can you get out of it?
