A woman called us today and asked if we could clean 800 square feet of carpet right away. Yes I said, we do have an opening. She did not want a price. Said it had alot of stains on it. I told her without looking , it would be around .28 a square foot. She said thats fine, just come on and clean it. When I got there she said it was a rent house and the people had moved out and left the carpet in a mess. She went on to say she was throwing it all away after we cleaned it . So confused we cleaned it as best as possible. I was amazed at how well it cleaned up. I went to her resident , next door and said we are done. I also said the carpet turned out great and she could probably save it. She said , no thats alright , I am going to replace it with hardwood. :oShe then thanked me and handed me a check for $224.00 . She said she appreciated us comming and cleaning it. Guess sometimes we just don't know what to think.

That is very strange indeed... The only thing I can think is she didn't want anyone (expect you and your staff) to see how dirty it was...

Hadn't thought of that Stephen. It is a possibility. She did appear to be well off financially.I'm sure the ones taking it out will appreciate it being nice and clean.

Maybe you are right! Maybe the people taking it out said they wouldn't touch it if it was that dirty. Was it disgustingly dirty?
Oh well, at least you got some income and maybe some more down the road after she has seen the great job you did!

Dan, There's a saying in the north of England: "There's nowt so queer as folk" I have several times been asked to clean mattresses that were destined for the local dump because the owner was embarassed about people seeing the stains on them.
