I was asked to price a carpet cleaning job for one office at the industrial account I have. I dont need to write up a proposal I just need to put the price on paper. Can anyone help to write something up short and sweet with the price for one room?
Thanks, Linda

Linda, You are becomming an established business with professional attitude. Perhaps it is time to invest in some invoices. For carpet cleaning, I ordered some from Nebs. There are several on the market. The invoices we use have info on them like;
Time Job ordered; Time Job done; A place for each room/area measurements; total sq feet; price per foot; total each area; disclaimers at bottom; gives you a choice to check such as Carpet-Upholstery-Drapes-Other; Printed company info on top; even has a pic of carpet wand in background. They look very professional and cost is not that bad. They come in two or three parts carbonless. I have even used them on tile floors and just checked Other. At the very least check some of them out or design your own and take to a print shop.

Hmm, I never thought about Nebs. I bought my first business checks from them. Will check that out. I thought maybe a simple invoice would be fine, but he had told me he just needs a price, but something simple on paper to take it from. Wasnt sure how to go about that. You guys have been a big help, thanks once again Linda

I did this job today and was just a small job, probably around 100 sq.ft. I did use a steam cleaner with a product called Little Helper. The carpet looks great and it didnt take much time at all including moving all her things. I priced it at $75.00 and he wants me to add it to my next invoice. Im curious though. He wants me to invoice it on an hourly rate deal so there is no problems with it going thru with no questions Im guessing the manager may not have agreed to having it done. Slipping it thru I guess lol. Anyway, I am hoping to get the whole office area. The carpet is terrible. Needs a major cleaning and hers was not as dirty as the rest of the office area, but dirty enough. Looks new again Praying for the rest Linda

Linda as far as the invoice are concerned I bought a program disc at Staples for $19.00 its called My Deluxe Invoice & Estimates and I use it to create my commercial invoices & estimates, the program even has follow up letters for estimates, thank you letters, late payment reminder letters and keeps tabs of your current, past and future estimates, invoices, products you sell etc., For my residential carpet, floor, window cleaning work, I created my own invoices listing whatever I wanted to put on it, then I took it down to Staples and they made 250 carbonles 2 page invoices for $69.995. I used Publisher to make my invoices and I can guarantee you that not one other cleaner in the world has the same type of workorder invoice like mine. By making your own you can ad your marketing message, use pictures or logos as you would want, if you want to take a look at my workorders I'll mail you a sample.
