It depends on what type, size and how many. We recently cleaned 20 that had a small seat and back that was covered with material. We used hot water extraction and upholstery cleaner from interlink. We charged $5 for each one. For a full size office chair with arms and back we might charge up to $35. Again it depends alot on how many you have. The more I do the less I charge. If you do not have an extractor you can use a solution of upholstery shampoo and hot water. You make suds in the bucket and dip a sea sponge in it and then apply it to the fabric with mild scrubbing. Vacuum each piece first and best if also vacuumed after they are dry . Some shampoo is designed to crystallize when it dries and is then to be vacuumed . There are alot of varieties of chairs. Some will have just seat covered, some will have seat and small back covered, some will have arm rest covered, some will have full sides under arm rest covered and some will have full backs covered. We start at $5 for the smallest ones and charge a little more for each added piece of fabric. Have a damp towel with you to wipe the metal or wood parts off after cleaning each one. Make sure they are not dry clean only.If so there are different type cleaners for this . Test clean small area for color bleeding and shrinking. There are products that help stop bleeding. Do not over use spot cleaners such as solvents because fabric may fade. Do not scrub spots with brush because fabric frays easy. Look for any rips, or thread bear spots and point them out to client before cleaning. They will show up much better after cleaning. Also some fabrics need to be groomed after cleaning . Such as velvet. Rub all lines from hand tools out with hand or grooming tool in one direction. If not the lines may stay there after drying. Cleaning chairs and upholstery is easy but because of delicate fabric you may someday end up buying a piece or two. Hope all this helps a little.
