I went to give an estimate on residential cleaning yesterday and the customer asked me about cleaning her windows which was not a problem until I went on her sunporch. She had lots of windows and they were vinyl, not glass. What do you use to clean vinyl windows? They were very dirty with lots of spots and mildew. I have never seen windows that weren't glass, so any help I would appreciate.

Are you talking about a Bimini (Marine)? If so then it's not WINDOWS. Check with your local distributor or a marine supply. Don't buy from the marine place they'll be 75-150% more than the rest. I'd charge a [glow=red,2,300]WHOLE LOT MORE[/glow]. There not like a glass pane, they fold, move around and you have to be sure you don't scratch them. I remember years ago I had awning on our camper and we added a sun porch with PLASTIC windows. We had to use something like a wax that was very expensive (From the RV Store) It was also a PITA to apply and remove.

years ago we cleaned a building that sold sunrooms with vinyl windows. We had to use a product specifically for them made by a company I will say called "vinyl Tech" have you asked your supplier. I bet a simple internet search will lead you in the right direction, but you are right do NOT use regular window cleaner. Special product & microfiber rag...

Interesting discussion here - I finally got my window cleaning kit and after some practice took it to the road :-) It looks like my landlady might be opting for regular scheduled service on all their buildings...and word is wafting through the neighborhood.
I haven't run across these vinyl windows and am all ears to hear more about them, the chemicals needed, and your experience -- sounds like from the tone of these posts that upcharges may be in order? Not that I'm greedy or anything -- but if I'm going to spend 4 times the sweat and time on a vinyl window than a glass, it's not fair to the glass people. Being the honest guy I am and all that...
Cheers,
John

I saw these at a house 3 weeks ago. The frames are there with the grids, only there is a plastic window. The material is kinda like a thick trash bag.
