How does a new window cleaner compete with established cleaner's? Here in pocatello a lot of business's say they already have cleaner or don't clean there windows at all! I have seen some bad windows. One is at a stereo store and you can hardly see through them!
I have passed out cards to twenty business, just to see what happens. Only two showed some interest. Ten did not want different cleaners and 8 did not care if there windows were dirty!
What do I do?

I am also advertising $15 window cleaning regardless of house size on my house cleaning flyer through the month of april. Hopefully this will gain new customers willing to pay for qaulity service at my regular rates during the summer months.

David, I am in TN and if this where a simple window to get to I would charge around $3 a side. I have a price guide that gives average price for your area but includes cleaning the screen and it says .20 a sq foot for light soil. It should only take about 4 or 5 minutes to do each side if it is light soil ,without screen, grids, stickers or signs to take down.

The $15 special has already helped me gain a $40 bi-weekly customer and Eight referral's! I use it to introduce my house and WINDOW cleaning service. Then bid on the job also I give customers a 48 hour rain guarantee. These nine leads were from knocking on fifty doors and talking to just twenty people! GET OUT THERE GUYS! GOOD LUCK!
Prices here for a 2000-3000 sqf house inside and out run fifty to seventy dollars.
I don't have a clue on store window prices any rough ideas?

this was an average price for your area. I don't think anything extral is figured in.If you used the guide for an insurance job this is all they will pay. If you are traveling far than I would figure expencies in. Other than that the taxes I don't know about in your area. It should only cost you a couple of pennies in solution to clean this size window. If you know what it is costing you in supplies, taxes , gas, labor then charge enough to cover those and make your desired profit. .20 sq foot seems to be a high average. That is $9.60 a side. Thats about $6.60 higher a side than I would charge here. Perhaps it is figuring state taxes and so on. Not sure.
