I thought about using a little dawn dish soap in water with a white scrubbing pad. I was reading earlier that the lighter the color of the pad the less abrasive. So should I have this cleaner in a squirt bottle and apply it as I am scrubbing?

I have a commercial office to clean up soon and the linoleum is just plain filthy. I don't know if it has ever been cleaned. What product would you recomend and would it be okay to rent some type of machine to scrub with or just use scrub brush and alot of elbow grease. Thanks for your help.

Hi everyone, I just picked up another residential @80.00 per weekly cleaning and was asked if I would consider giving a discount if they paid 6 mos. in advance. I told him I had never thought about doing that, but that I would let him know what I could do next week. I guess I pretty much said yes to the discount. What kind of discount would you give? Thanks, Kathy

I have a customer whome i've been cleaning for about 7 yrs. This past year I started hiring employees. I have 3 now. The turnover can be great at first untill you get the right person or persons. She has met three different workers two of which are not with me anymore. Last week I had 2 new girls with me. She was not happy with this. She was polite to them but i could tell something was wrong. She left for work and called me later on saying she doesn't want new faces at the house, only me. I told her I understood and that I would respect her wishes, but I would always have to have someone with me. So now I need to take the girl that she knows best along with me. I can never let two girls go by themselves. This kinda puts a problem in my schedueling. Has anyone else had this problem where the cusomer eants you and you slone?

Hi, I will soon be adding another employee. The two of them will be riding together, and I need to compensate for gas money. How does everybody else handle this? Thanks, Kathy

Hi, I need to give a bid on an office. 1X weekly Between 1200 &1400 sq. ft. with 5 offices, bathroom, kitchen area and showroom. All carpeted except bathroom and entryway. They want me to dust the office every other week with a dust cloth and cleaner, and the rest of the time feather dust. Would appreciate any help with pricing. I have an idea, but would like to hear from others out there. Thanks, Kathy

Hi, Just need a little encouragement. Have been doing houses for more than 2 decades and am trying to get offices. I have 2 through word of mouth. I've been in the yellow pages for 2 years and have sent out 4x6 post cards advertising my servises. No calls for offices. Can't go door to door because of the no soliciting signs. And when I call and try to speak to the business manager, I am given their voice mail. I leave a message, but never receive a call back. If I could just talk to someone face to face, I'm sure I could get somewhere. Is there another technique that anyone can clue me in on. Thanks for your help. Kathy

I gave a bid on a 7-8000 sq ft doctors building. I bid it @ .14 per sq. ft. totaling $1,425 per month , cleaning 2x a week. Today I called to follow up on the bid and was told that they hadn't made a decision yet but my bid was considerably higher than the rest. 3x higher. I can't believe this. I just need to know what the going bid in my area is. How can I find out? I was told that I could submit another bid if I wanted to. I felt really good about the interview. Any suggestions? Kathy
If I charged 550-650 and had to pay 2 workers (which is the plan) where is my profit? I'm still scratching my head about this. Kathy

Hi, could someone help me with the way I want to word the type of residential homes I want to clean. I always had my business cards say residential and commercial. Well, now I want them to say someting like Businesses, Offices, Medical, Fine Homes, and new construction. What I'm trying to say for the homes is nicer up scale homes, but I don't want to insult any homeowner who may take this the wrong way, also I may get a call asking what do I mean by Fine homes? I'm not sure how to be tactful here. Maybe there's another way to word all of this. Thqnks for your imput. kathy

Hi, I have my first employee. She's been with me for about 2and 1/2 months. I like her. She's a good, honest worker and really loves her job with me. Problem is, she is sick alot. Probably has missed at least 10 days since she has started. When she calls me, she is REALLY TRULY sick. She may have some health issues, I don't know. Everyone tells me to let her go. I've talked to her and she knows that her sick time is a big problem and says she will try to just tough it out. I'm thinking on taking away one day a week and let someone else I know work with me to train so as to be a back up. This would give her a 4 day work week instead of 5. This other person just wants to be a fill in anyway. What would you do? Thanks!

I would like to hear from anyone who has tried sending 10 flyers a day to promote their business. What kind of results did you get? Other than the yellow pages, what other ways do you get more businesses?
