I did not see this post anywhere & though it would be an interesting topic for everyone to contribute to? We have bartered out cleaning & floor care on a few occasions. In the past we did a hair salon strip & refinish for haircuts. It was a salon we alredy went to & liked the way they cut hair, thankfully. More recently ( last 2 1/2 years ) we had bartered out my daughters tuition at a private school. I did a little write up on the benefits of bartering & pulled up something from services magazine for them. It worked well. I have gotten away from looking for those opportunities, but now that I am thinking about it again I will start looking. Maybe I will hit a few embroidery shops to see who has tile that needs stripping before I choose who will do our uniforms How about you guys? Any bartering stories? Does this get ya thinking who you may be able to barter with?

Kevin is "The Baron of Barter". There are some posts in here about it, but I couldn't tell you exactly where since the site underwent *clean-up* LOLOL! Kevin, you out there?
We haven't actually done any yet, but hope to swing a deal on a new work truck/cargo van when we get the Ford dealerships.

Thanks for the compliment.. Baron of Barter, I like it!! Like it alot, adding that to my business cards. There are many bartering techniques around here, marketing and strategy and in the members area. I like to call it swapping service. You can call me the "Sultan of Swap" too. There is a key to swapping service, its the mark up price if you mark up your service say general cleaning $30.00 profit, and you are dealing for example with a merchandiser who makes products.. getting an even swap is the goal. Example if we do window washing, a house which lets say 10 outside windows. My cost is labor.. not even $20.00 if we were going to swap with an oil change place it would not be even, filter and 6 quarts and labor. I might owe this Oil Change service owner 2 Window Washings to be fair. I suggest if you can swap service to do so. You are building solid relationships and getting a value for your work. You always get quality in a swap. Also if you have alot of services to offer swapping is for you, eventually your swapper...lol will buy a service or you`ll gain enough credits to get something really good. I like to swap my services for business gift certificates, then also give these away or re-swap them. Found this online also Barter Business Club, Please note iIhave not had a chance to look at it in depth yet. (will review later) www.bbu.com/
