Do you have Funds for Advertising ? Are you willing to Spend Amounts Favorable just to let your Company be Known in your Area? Are you Licensed Insured or Maybe Bonded?
What are your Specific Services and Sub-Categories? If I am a Consumer what will be my Reasons to Switch from my Current provider to your Services. Do I have a Proper Training for the Services that I am Marketing?
Professionally How competent will you be?
These and more Questions arises in Order to Gain Business. Most of us Knows How to do the Work. Residential Consumers ask a lot of Questions regarding your Services most of All Commercial. Getting a Janitorial Account is not only Passing Flyers and Cards.

Do you have patience?
You are doing some of what in necessary. It takes time.Dont forget to network with others providing other services, help each other. Then there is the dreaded cold calls. This is the stuff that is time consuming & can be a drag, but to a newbie it is also the stuff that doesnt cost ya.

Well, in my opinion, it is all in how you present yourself too. Like, don't be too richey - but at the same tme, don't be a slouch either. The yellow page helped me out sooo much!!! (get one)
As for me, i have vonage (www.vonage.com) it is cheaper than most phone companies. I have that number forwarded to my cell number so i don't miss the calls.
Good Luck

You may also try joining your chamber of commerece. They may have get togethers where you pass out your cards to business owners. If they really want you to join someone will help you by introducing you to potential clients. There are also other groups such as Jaycees; rotary;ect... Reptition is good also. Don't just give them one card and never return. Go back every month and let them no you are serious and not just a fly by night business.
