I am thinking about changing my name from JR Cleaning to Kleaning Guy as I think it would be better for name recognition. I have had one response to JR Cleaning flyer, but just for side service-snow removal. As I am only into second week of operation open to comments!
Thanks John

I think if I had the chance to choose another name, and I have posted this before I would choose Detroit Janitorial Service. I thinking adding a city name or something people recognize in your community will give you stronger recognition. I also dislike when people choose business names with misspellings, especially now with search engines. Also with this note by choosing a city name will increase the likely hood of people finding your website. Really look into your community surroundings, and look at some of the 40+ year businesses that have been around. What have they named their business. Heres a good example we have Comerica Park the New Tigers Stadium in Detroit, a new service opened up about a month ago called Comerica Cleaning & Restoration, strong name, already has recognition.

I think I will stick with my current name. Just wanted some feed back as I am reading business books and testing some theory's out. I seem to be alright with my name as I had a shot at a big construction clean up, but as I can't afford insurance had to decline. They heard about me through referral and like the personal small business sound of my name.

Hey Mr.Clean,
I always vote for you. Do you know that ?
When choosing a Company Name be Wise because if you want a website to accompany your Company there should be relevancy to appear in top category so you get all jobs at Michigan. Sample Name:
Detroit Janitorial - Your Website will be mostly categorized in Detroit.
Michigan Clean- Your Site will appear in Michigan categorized in Cleaning
Relevancy to what you do is the Key unless you are Optimizing.
Cheers

Dont know if it'll be helpful or not but if you're in a larger city with lots of competition in the phone books, try choosing a name that'll be closer to the beginnng of you're listing. Some companies only look at the first few listings in the book and if you're at the end you may not get as many calls.
