Good Day all my fellow business owners and cleaning professionals. My name is LaCanne and I am a recent member of the association. I would like to comment on all the great postings I have seen and I was able to learn some valuable information. I began We'll Do It Cleaning almost 1 year ago and have grown at a steady rate thus far. I was interested to know if anyone could give me some insight to green cleaning such as products, procedures, etc. in addition I would like to see if anyone would care for a mentee. Thanks again and God Bless YOU all this year in your business!!!

LaCanne...
Welcome to the IJCSA! You'll like it here. I'm fairly new too in the biz, organized the LLC in November, and am ramping up.
When it comes to valuable information, you've come to the right place. I found this association to be the most action packed with the best, and most effective information. You are spot on, in my opinion, with your thirst for green cleaning information. I feel it's not a trend or fad in our business -- but the direction it's going. Yet I'm one of those people who value standardization, documentation of procedures, list of certified <fill in product here> products. Although much closer, "green" has not fully matured to that point. There is an ISO standard for environmental concerns that is sort of a framework -- but it's not widely implemented.
Interestingly, you've just joined an up-and-coming, growing janitorial and cleaning services organization at the same time green cleaning is up-and-coming and growing. I have a hunch the IJCSA may very well be a significant contributor to the industry transition to environmentally safe product and practice.
Regarding mentorship: as you go about these forums reading, if you see a person or business that strikes you as what you would be looking for in a mentor, don't be afraid to ask them. I have a mentor through the IJCSA and it's great. I had a tunnel vision as to what I wanted to do, and my mentor gently motiviated me to look a bit beyond that. Because of his input and sage advice my service offerings are a bit more robust -- and I have been able to enjoy revenue and clientele from a direction I did not expect, or was even aware existed.
All the best to you, and God's Blessings to you and yours this year as well! :-)
