I know we talked about it on a post called price guide. I can't seem to find it at the moment. I really like the book and use it on insurance jobs- fire/water damage.

Go to www.bluebook.net or call 800-425-8326 click on pic of blue book cost guide in lower left corner. We had talked about this on post titled "Price Guide". It is a book of average prices charged for cleaning, reconstruction ,and repair costs in different zones and different states. It is great for itemizing each item cleaned. I use it strickly for insurance invoices. they except it very well even though some of the prices seem high for what we do ; the insurance realizes all the risk involved in water and fire restoration. The 2005 is aprox 400 pages. the 2006 should come out march or april.

not the actual book itself, my friend says they have a program. you can get a free listing at : www.thebluebook.com/freelist.html. They'll call you to verfy the listing in a couple days. From my understanding, they'll send you leads for bids that are about bids are open for your business type, if you pay for a better listing. He said thats where he get most of his accounts from.

The price estimated for each particular thing ( carpet cleaning; painting; hanging a cabinet; cleaning a light fixture; rent for dehumidifiers and so on) are suppose to be an average price for each area. In Tn there are 3 zones. each zone suggest a different price for each particular thing. In Maine , I guess the average was the same accross the state. Thats just according to this book. I don't know how acurate it is.

It doesn't list just a price for janitoral price. Everything in this book is itemized. I will give you a example. 1. Window -soiled lightly- .17 square foot. due to copyright I can't say much more on prices. It gives prices for things like cleaning mini blinds; waxing floors, and so on. It is great for itemizing an invoice for insurance. Thats the only time I use it. You can call them and they can tell you more about what is in it if you are interested in it.
