it is new construction cleaning so that would mean just cleaning up the dirt and dust they bring in when they are building. In Vancouver cleaning house and thing like that are based on hours.

What do you think is the best way to get construction jobs? Do you just walk up to the model house?

Hi everyone,
There is a guy at work who is building his own electrical business. His wife is a real estate agent so he also buys homes that he fixes up himself. His daughter cleans them. He has a friend who asked him if he knew anyone who would be interested in cleaning new contruction for him. He builds around 12 homes a year. Mike "the guy at work" gave him my card :-) if they lose the lady they have now (she is thinking of quitting) then he may call me. If he calls me would a fair price be .18 sq.ft. or should I go lower since I would be doing each home he builds. I dont know if I would have to do debris or not. Windows included. Thanks for any help you can give me :-)
Thanks, Linda

For general clean up we charge $25.00 hr. We charge separate for windows in range of $15.00 to $20.00 per window. We charge separate if carpet needs cleaning, which it sometimes does even on new construction. We charge separate for hauling debri if needed. There seems to me like there would be to many variances to set a price by the foot. For example ifs there were sheet rock mud on all window frames and on trim , so on, and there was silicone of fixtures or cement on windows would you still charge the same price for sq. Ft.?

Ok, another question Lets say you are walking up to a construction site to speak with the manager after speaking with him over the phone. He wants information about your business for future reference. What would the information in your binder consist of.... 1. Company info 2. Copy of Insurance/Bond/License 3. Job spec for Post Clean 4. Job spec for Final Clean 5. Job spec for Re-clean 6. Business card Would this information be correct or should a person add to the list?? Also, would you put in the binder what you charge per sq. ft? Thanks, Linda

Some letters of recommendation from your client base would be nice. Maybe some pictures of before and afters. Pictures are powerful tools if they catch their attention. As soon as they say WOW, you can smile. Maybe a certificate from IJSCA showing you are a member and that you are striving to be your best. that ones just a hint but it could happen.

how much should be added on for debris removal? We charge between $50.00 to $100.00 for a full size pick up truck bed full. That is loading and taking it to recycle center. It makes a difference with what you are loading. If its large light pieces or small heavy pieces.
