I just got a contract to do a large retirement home, construction clean. I am looking for the most efficient way to eliminate dust from the walls and floors of the new build. I am thinking that just wiping it down will cause the dust to be pushed around.. that perhaps we have to vacuum it! But.. there is 55000 sq feet... a lot more than that of wall space!! Also, I am going to have 10 people there to clean, so I would only have a couple of vacuums between the lot of them... please advise.
Thanks, David

David, you will have to be more specific on what you are working on. What surface types are you cleaning? Painted Sheet Rock;Block Walls, Rough Textures, How High, What type of flooring is at bottom of walls and so on. Also when bidding on these large jobs , you need to be able to get the equipment needed to do the job. If you are planning on vacuuming all the walls with 10 people then you need more vacuums or less help.

Understood... some of the walls are finished by that I mean painted and ready to be occupied. Most are primered drywall. The flooring of the facility is 70% VCT and 25% carpet. 5% being that textured hard floor (in the kitchens). Does that help?
Also, I know about being able to buy products for whatever job I am bidding on... Hind site being what it is... I should have asked for more money, or more time...

Also, there is plenty of other things for the 'others' to do while the floor and wall cleaners are busy. Such as pressure washing the outside, washing windows, replacing screens, etc...

David, sounds like you have it under control. Vacuum the walls with Hepa Filter vacuums . I have saw on other post that some use the microfiber cloths on flat mops as well. Equipment may be alot of expense from one account but will give you more profit on the next job. Good luck on the job. Maybe others can give more advice.

For the record, I went with the microfiber. This worked pretty well. Took some time, but worked.

David, did you just use microfiber on all the walls? No vacuums? Must have been time consuming...

We use a microfiber with a slit cut in it and taped to a shop vac head
