Hello, I would like to have some banks to clean, and would like to know how to go about getting them. Who do I ask to talk with when I go in. Also is there a way to find out what the going rate is for commercial accounts in my area? I do a lot of residential and have one Dr.'s office. I need to build up the commercial side of the business now. Thanks for your help. Kathy

My input may not be helpful to you as I'm from Ontario. Here the situation is the banks have engaged a property management firm to handle their account on a national scale. This national property management firm eg. Brookfield, LePage , Johnson Controls. (BLJC) contracts large areas to master contractors say 300-500 branches in southern Ontario. These master contractors then sub contract to smaller companies like mine. Unless you can really negotiate or were doing a branch before these master contractors got in, the prices are crappy. We were lucky enough to have branches before this happened and the managers insisted we stay. We are making more than they would normally pay for the branches we are doing. In the U. S. more banks are privately owned so the situation is probably different. Simply treat it as any other business development situation. If the case is the same as in Ontario, contact large janitorial companies like UNICCO, Federated, Modern that are national and try to get on there list for your local area.
