This question cannot be answered easily. First of all it depends on what is on the floor to start with. Second depends on chemicals I use and equipment I use. If I had a 2000 sq ft floor with regular finish on it and no build up I could do it really fast with sidewinder, machine laying stripper and machine to such it up with , air movement and right temperature and humidity . But if I did 2000 ft with lots of wax build up and just some old equipment it may take lots longer. What if it has some type of urethane on it? Then it will take long no matter what. What if it was a new vct tile floor. Those are really easy, but what if there are a lot of obsticales to go around and perhaps some carpet that you may have to cross over to get to the tile. What if you have a wet vac that sucks slow or one that sucks fast? What if you had a scraper with a dull blade or one with a sharp blade? You see there is no clear answer. And as far as price , how can you have a set price with all the different things involved. Sure you may have an average price but I have charged from .20 to 2.00 a sq foot. It depends on amount of tile being done. What is on tile. What things that may create problems. What has to be moved. Is there a maintenace program that goes alone with the strip job? Is the finish a super fast drying finish that can dry in five minutes or one that may take 30 minutes? Perhaps if everything was perfect and the same in all manners I could have a simple answer but if it were than we would already know all the answers. I do know that after 24 years of stripping and finishing floors I have no idea what I can do in an hour till I have done it.
