I just received a contract to do the floors of a local retail store. the stores (there are 5 of them) are between 1500 and 2200 square feet. They are 95% finished wood. What would you recommend me use to clean them? For the residential houses I do with wood floors, I use a microfiber towel, and either neutral cleaner or Murphy's wood soap. Most of the time, I rotate between the two. Someone suggested that I get a buffer and use the neutral... but on wood? Is that recommended? Please assist. Thanks, David www.MyCleaningFairy.com

Commercial wood floors we have used Woodpecker hardwood floor soap. Dust mop first to get rid of any debris and then use the dryest damp mop that you can get away with. Do not want the tongues of the wood to swell and contract. Have never used a buffer on hardwood unless you are going to sand screen and refinish. I am not an expert on wood floors by any means. The finish is probably urethane and the scratches are not coming out with a buffing at any rate. I am sure there are experts here or try Jeff Kessler on the ICS commercial floor care board.

Thanks Bill! I appreciate your response. This does help me a lot, as I thought it was strange using a buffer on all wood floors.
I figured instead of using a mop at all, I will use a flat mop with a micro fiber towel and spray the all purpose on the floor, that way I will be using minimal water all together.
Thanks again! David

Hello everyone! i just wanted to supply feedback as to what has worked and what has not for me and these commercial wood floors.
I found that my microfiber plan wasn't very effective. I am using a swing machine with a white pad, and all purpose. This works well for taking off the scuff marks. Also, we can go straight to the tile flooring and clean it with the same method.
