Whats on surface and how rough surface is may make a difference. Dark Blue and Brown are for Scrubbing but Black may work depending on what you are working with. There are also grit brushes designed to scrub concrete with.

Its actually a smooth medium brownish color on the floor. It looks like someone tried to scrub it before and left swiels all over the floor because they didnt mop it up they just let it set on the floor and it dried up.

It is possible this could be stained or painted. The swril marks may not be from a cleaning, it could also be from the process they used in coloring it or in the finishing of concrete. You need to do a test area to determine what will come up , what want and to see if there is permanent damage to the finish that is on concrete now. Start with lighter pad and increase to darker pad till you find the one that works well and leaves no damage to the finish. You could also try a carpet brush on a stipping machine, they are not not nearly as aggressive as a grit brush.

Not to highjack this thread but...
How many of you do stone care: marble, granite, cement etc..
I see the Home Depots around here doing a nice job on polishing up the concrete floors.
Kevin do you use anyone local that specializes in this as a sub?

I don't do stone restoration or maintenance but would like to . I suggested to Kevin that it would be a good idea to see if the IJCSA could get someone like Maurizio from MB Stone or Tom McNall from Great Northern Stone to put on a hands on class in some areas where our members are. I would find a way to go to one in Detroit. Maybe see if we can get an association rate? Doubt it though. I know Tom is doing many seminars in the States now throught the MIA.

good idea Bill. I wanted to learn it as well but the $900 discounted price tag was a bit steep for me
Update: Just got an email that there is a stone care seminar in my State next week ( cool ! )

Hey Brian thanks for hi jacking my thread lol but back my subject. I just scrubbed those floors on Sunday and I noticed that there were yellow marks all over the floor but the there wasnt any wax on the floor. I used a neutral cleaner to scrub the floor and after I was done I could see the yellow in the floor. Its not wax or anything on the floor. I used a stripper on the floor and it still has a yellowish tint on the floor. Im trying to figure out what it is. The project manager called me today and told me that the yellow wasnt on the floor before and that we put it on there. So Im trying to figure out if anyone knows what that yellow tint is on the concrete floor.
