Hi Everyone, I was wondering what everyone does. Do you wear your shoes, or take them off when you enter people's house? I would rather wear my shoes, but some people MAKE me take them off. Carla

Personally, I think you should ALWAYS remove your shoes even if you just bought them. You never know when there is something stuck to the bottom and alot of people find it disrespectful to enter their home with your shoes.

You can also buy slip over vinyl/plastic shoe covers from carpet cleaning suppliers. I found some on ebay that only cost-ed me a few pennies each. The customer loves them. They are easy to put over your shoe. They come in white and blue that I know of. You can use them again if they are not dirty. You can also leave a couple pair with your customer and tell them they are just in case she has company and someone needs them. It shows respect to your customers belongings. It shows you care about her needs after your gone. Your customer will love them. I have even had some customers buy extra pairs at $1 a pair.

I carry an extra set of shoes I only wear in the houses. I remove my outdoors shoes and leave them inside the door as I come in and i switch over to my house shoes. ;D

Oh my shoes were did I leave my shoes. LOL Its hot here in the summer and I m always barefoot at home. First time cleans I try to keep my shoes on. You never know what you might step on. As for regulars I always take my shoes off. I even left my shoes at a clients house once. I got home and said oh my were did I leave my shoes. Then I got a phone call.

I was wondering where I could get some of those slip-on thingies. I have seen them before and thought them to be a good idea, just never knew where to buy them. Thanks for the idea, Dan.

A friend of mine, said that she was told by Molly Maid that they have to keep there shoes on. OSHA and safety reasons. I was just wondering if anybody else has heard of keep your shoes on in peoples house due to OSHA. Carla

Kevin, Thanks for the second link. I bought a package of 100 just to try them out and have to say I was quite impressed. I made the purchase over the weekend and had them by Monday. Oh, and NO shipping charges.

Haven't used them on a clean, yet, but I p[oked my finger through them fairly easily. We will see. Seems like they were made for carpet cleaners and probably not much else. Doubt I would do post-construction in them. I'll let you know how they work.
