A client has a powder room with a basin/sink that looks like a bronze bowl. The client doesn't know what it is made of. When you tap it sounds like it could be a metal. Water doesn't drain completely and the result is a whitish gray ring around the drain that I can't remove. I have tried Lime Away(leaving it sit on the ring for about an hour) a number of times but it doesn't touch it. Any ideas?
Thanks, Sandi You Have It MAID!

Use baking soda and form a paste with water, apply to towel and scrub. Should come off.

It's possible to give your bathroom a completely new look just by changing the basin design and with literally hundreds of great shapes, sizes and styles to choose from it couldn't be easier to get just the look you want.

Cantol makes a product named HI-BRITE is a nonflammable lemon scented emulsion aerosol formulation specially designed to clean, polish and protect the original finish of metal surfaces (stainless steel, aluminum, brass, chrome, copper) and other hard washable surfaces (formica., plastics,, porcelain). HI-BRITE easily removes, without abrasive agents, tough oil based stains,, water spots, fingerprints, smudges, spills, and food soils. HI-BRITE polishes as it cleans and leaves no greasy film. HI-BRITE leaves a unique coating which resists unsightly water spots, fingerprints, grease and grime. HI-BRITE contains all edible ingredients which enables it to be used anywhere with confidence. For routine maintenance use HI-BRITE's convenient aerosol package for spotlessly clean metal surfaces.
Another product they have to use prior to Hi-Brite is called That-Green Stuff truly a great clean that doesn't scratch surfaces.
Hope this helps

The grout between the tiles around your shower basin is subjected to a barrage of moisture, soap, grime and other things that can cause the grout to mildew, corrode and even crack. If the grout is compromised, moisture can get under the tiles themselves, which can cause bigger problems in the long run.

Because a shower generally looks best when fully tiled, you'll probably need to tile the bottom, or basin area, of the shower as well as the walls. You need to use basin inserts for the general shape, upon which tiles are installed with adhesive or thinset mortar.

Choosing a bathroom counter height now depends on your needs instead of just a standard height. Although there is an industry-standard height, manufacturers offer bathroom counters for custom sinks and that meet the needs of taller people as well, so you can choose the counter height that best suits you.

Your basin will have a U-bend or bottle trap beneath it, which is designed to seal out the drain odours. These can become blocked if the lowest point of the bend becomes blocked with debris. Clean this with a hooked length wire.
