:) I would like to know from others who have been in this business for yrs., knew what to charge/bid for: l)homes, (small & big) sq. footage, offices, rental property, contracts, etc.
My husband can retire from his state job in a few months & wants to help me to expand this "small cleaning business". We also have cleaned a church in the evenings for many yrs. We would appreciate all the help we can get!
My hopes are to get enough work & quit one home that the woman lately calls to re-schedule & I clean from about 8:l5 to 4:00, bi-weekly.
Thanks in-advance, & Blessings!!

Welcome aboard Purple53 You will find alot of helpful information here at IJCSA. Read as much as possible and dont be afraid to ask questions. There are many here ready to help May I ask if you charge a re-scheduling fee? Some charge $25.00 but I have never had to so far. I have only had one incident where the lady didnt cancel until I got there. She was very sick and forgot to call. I let it slip, but would charge if it were a habit. Do you charge this lady for your 8 hour time? I would charge her around $200.00 bi-wkly if you are not doing so rather than letting her go or hire someone to do it for you?? Linda

No, I didn't charge to re-schedule. Been working for about 3 yrs. now, didn't have this problem until recently.
Until recently, my husband & I now are considered a "small business". Have been searching for information like mentioned to find out just what to charge,bidding,etc,etc... This particular persons house is a two story. It is one of those cases where you are just starting out to see if this line of work is what I wanted to do. A contract would probably be the way to go, need to find a "sample" copy of one. This is a very demanding, in-charge type person. Have heard she has had several "cleaning services" before. So, the question is if I stay there, what adjustments do I need to make?
The $80.00 is what has been pd. for yrs.,doubt she would pay more.
thanks for your help!
