Hi all, it has been a rough week but I'm getting through it.
I had a house to look at on Friday morning, it is 2500 sf. older couple, older home, with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths. 3 indoor cats. Mostly carpet and some tile/brick flooring. 2 of the bedrooms are very little dusting and just vacuum. Average amount of clutter.
They have a sun room that is to be vacummed, utility (floors) and then the guy's room with his tv and treadmill, not much to it.
They want bi-weekly. I am thinking $125 for initial clean and $100.00 for each cleaning therafter. Does this sound about right?
Thanks for any help,
Brandy

I would go for $140 for the first then $90 bi-weekly if there is very little dust. I have learned to always go a min. of at least $50 more for the intial no matter what because sometimes you never really know til you really start getting into it. aka ...Pandora's box. It may take 2-3 times to get into a routine with the new home, but when you do the faster it gets done and the money $$ per hour you have achieved, while still playing fair to the client.
I guess for me this theory has been working out as I have been doing this bidding game for about a year now. Perhaps some of the more experienced bidders could be of assistance to you.
Just my 2 cents

I would go at least $150.00 for the initial and $100.00 for the bi-weekly. 3 cats could be quite a bit of cat hair on furniture as well. Bedrooms are easy and quick to do, but bathrooms and kitchens can be very time consuming, especially if you have animals in the house. I use to go $125.00 for the initial, but that changed after about the 3rd house. My minimum is $150.00 no matter what and always well deserved Hope this helps, Linda

I have a few questions. l)Are cleaning rates about the same in all states? Was wondering if how much they vary? Is there information as to what to charge for homes, offices,so forth, so on? I have a possibly of cleaning a 7,000 sq.ft. building/ bi-weekly. Any suggestions? Also, where can one get forms, contracts, etc needed for resid/commercial?
I live in Texas. Any information maybe as to what rates may be here?
Thanks for any help!

Prices will vary not only from state to state , but from as close as areas within a city. Ask Kevin, I imagine he can command more for cleaning in say Rochester heights than he can in another area of Detroit. As well, you need to try and get some idea of what your competitors are charging in your area. Best way is to have someone you know call a number of your competitors and get quotes. This is somewhat devious but about the only way to get info. You can get copies of contract forms here in the Forms section. To get some valid idea of pricing you need to provide the specifications of the job you are going to do. Be as detailed as possible.
