???I would love to hear from those of you residential cleaners who have used backpack vacs. I am considering a purchase. Seems that they would be easier to maneuver (sp?) and would make that job a little quicker than using an upright. Also, what brand would you recommend? thanks for any thoughts.

Bonita: Best in the market , from what i know is the Pro Team backpacks. Weight, power and harness however I don't own them, they're pricey. We have a small Hoover backpack that we use for commercial, stairs, high vacuuming etc. and find it to be very useful. Noisy and if using for prolonged time better have ear protection. Small bag so don't plan on going far if vacuuming dirty areas without changing bag.

We have Pro Team & Powr Flite backpacs in use right now ( commercial cleaning ).
For the money I would pick Pro Team, the are cheaper & do a fine job.

I have a couple of back packs. Lesson learned. My next back pack will be: 1. Light Weight. 2. No heat will be blowing on my back. 3. It will have a hepa filter. 4. I hope it also has a handle on top to make it easy to carry in and out of jobs. 5. I will be able to order bags easily for it.

Definitely go with Pro Team. We've used a few different brands and have found Pro Team to be the best quality and best buy for the money.
I had a hip vac a few years ago (can't remember the brand), and I did like it because it was very light weight. But the trade-off with a vac like this is that it doesn't hold much and you're emptying it all the time.

We use Betco, and I have used Pro-Team also. Good Machines. When the backpack craze hit we put them in accounts. They started coming up missing. We started assigning the lids to the cleaners to take home. Somewhat solved the problem. We pretty much use them on special jobs now, or any job where we really want to look fancy. I think the biggest thing with backpack vac`s is getting over the initial feeling of, I FEEL like a ghostbuster. Also for new staff, strapping them up with a Backpack Vac always takes longer, takes some time to get used to, its kinda awkward in the beginning. Once you get used to one though, you will never go back. I have one for my home. I love it. Backpack Vac`s at Clean Freak Take 10% Off Your Order As A IJCSA Member- Go To Clean Freak- Click Here

We use backback vacs for hard floors our large homes. They do a great job. There is a problem in smaller homes and tight places as you tend to hit furniture behind you. We love them!
