Today reminded us of why we don't like spring break. Teenage kids came home while mopping of course, but here is a true story. A few years ago we had a very lucrative Friday account we also cleaned her office. During spring break we were minding our own business doing what we normally do. I look out to the pool area and I see a bunch of kids bringing in cases of beer. We call the mother at work and told her what was going on. She stated that she would rather her son drink at home so as not to drink and drive. She said it was OK for them to have a small get together with friends. We explained to her that we were the only adults in the home and we would not take responsibility for these kids. She kept on and said she wanted to talk to her son. So we put the kid on the phone. As soon as he was off the phone he goes outside and turns the music up louder. I said to my wife, we're out of here. If the neighbors call the cops we still would get in trouble, because we were the adults at the home. So we left, dropped the accounts. I will not put up with that from my kids so I surely am not going to be responsible for some hair brained kid. It all worked out because not long after that her husband divorced her and we clean for him and all of his rentals. Kids were from a previous marriage. Comments?

Ya know, I am not sure how that works. I dont think I would want to be there either. I would drop the account myself. Being the adult even though you are providing a service it may fall on your shoulders if the law showed up. My opinion she should have a little more respect and not put you in that situation. If she allows her son to drink then it should be done on her time not yours.
