Hi, I have client who asked me if I knew any way to take out the odor of cat urine in her micro-fiber recliner. The cat got mad when they moved their furniture around and peed on it. So I imagine it is soaked pretty good in the cushion. Beyond having it professional cleaned, is there anything that could help resolve the odor?

You could try an enzyme cleaner, (ie. bacteria that basically eat the bacteria that causes the cat odour). Try on an inconspicuous spot on the chair fabric to make sure of colour fastness and based on results, spray on affected area and let sit. You can then use an upholstery spotter on the same spot to clean it. However, I am NOT a carpet and upholstery expert but this has worked for me.

I operate in Canada and the product I use you probable can't get. PM Dan and I am sure he can give you a couple of brand names you can pick up. The one I use is called Enzymatic from Wood Wyant Inc.. I am sure other memebers here can throw in some names.
