Hi, Help I need some advice again!!!! I am cleaning a town home for a move-in clean. They basically want everything sanitized it has been cleaned by a company the Realtor hired.
I was planning on wiping all surfaces with bleach water or Lysol disinfectant cleaner and hot water.
What should I do for the hardwood floors?
I am steam cleaning the carpets with a germ killing cleaner and spraying with disinfectant.
Is this a good affective sanitizing/ disinfecting method?
I am afraid I got myself in over my head. I looked up methods of sanitizing on line and there seems to be a lot more to it then what I was planning.
Please help

Trina: Sanitizing is as much about dwell time as it is about the product you are using. Most quaternary disinfectants will require 11 minutes dwell time to kill up to HIV and Hep C I believe. As well, most leave a film upon drying. There are other types of disinfectants iodophor and another one I can't remember right now that i am not that familiar with. You may want to check into their qualities. The diluted bleach solution again may work for sanitizing but with the proper dwell time and DO NOT USE IT ON THE HARDWOOD FLOORS. The carpet, if you are using a germicidal cleaner, I think it's unecessary to spray with disinfectant and may in fact make the carpet attract dirt .
A good cleaning goes a long way to sanitizing and a lot less time consuming and expensive.
I haven't done a lot of "Sanitizing" jobs other than the quaternary disinfectant we use in the bathrooms. Someone who does trauma clean up or some other stuff will be able to help you more.
