Gary, Rust-out works pretty well for a chemical. It is made to be used on most surfaces, but is quite corrosive and you need to be aware of the fumes. A non-chemical alternative may be a pumice stone that you can buy almost anywhere (we get ours at Wal Mart). It sounds horrible and you can't believe it's not scratching the toilet bowl, but we used this just a couple weeks ago on one of the worst rust stained toilets I have seen and it worked great. Have patience and some arm strength and it should come out fine. Mike and Mardi

Yes a pumice stone will work great. Takes some elbow grease to get it done. Make sure you keep the stone wet while using it and you will be fine.

Hi I use a rust cleaner called whink and it works great . you can find it in some grocery stores or hardware stores. Not harmful to toilets. Or you can also use Rust out found at Lowes Stores.

Barkeeper's Friend works wonders too.
I use a pumice for anything really heavy-duty. We do all-natural.
