i had a nightmare job yesterday. It was a dark blue carpet i had to clean with a nasty coffee stain on.aksed customer if she had tried to remove stain herself, and she showed me a bottle she had used,it was just your basic supermarket carpet shampoo.I started to clean carpet and as i got to the area with the stain the ammount of foam that came of it was unreal. It was then the lady told me she had used 2 bottles of this shampoo, nearly a bottle of hair shampoo, and some washing powder for clothes. It took me an hour and a half to remove soap suds from carpet, and even then the area was lighter than the rest of carpet.Explained to the woman the combination of all these cleaners had probally bleached her carpet slightly.By the time i had finished the rest of her carpet and cleaned her sofa,a 2 hour job had turned into a 4hr job.I was so glad to get out of that house.(aaarrrrggghhhh, some jobs drive me mad) ;D ;D

What a nightmare! My auto mechanic has a sign posted right next to his price board that says "If you tried to fix it yourself first, add $50.00" LOL! ;D did you charge extra?

I would have charged extra, most consumers in desperation always become chemists, mixing and scrubbing. they will spend $25-$30 on chemicals or a portable rug doctor, still not getting the stain out.
