hi.just wondering how effective you find flyer drops.I have found myself over the years, ;D i normally get around a 1% job return.I find cold calling at businesses works fairly well.I must admit most of my work these days comes from return jobs and referals, but am allways interested in new ways to generate work.

Hello Lord. flyers, post cards, called calls, business cards, referals, websites, yellow pages, these are all the ways I advertize. they all have thier benefits. I find useing a good variaty of ways reaches more customers. there all good ways to get customers. by having a mixer of diferent methods you can reach alot of people. they say for flyers and post cards, there is a 1-2% return of calls from them, which is pretty good.

I do cold calls, don't care for them, but I do it. I do alot of follow up calls. for example: I will send out a bulk of flyers and then wait few days, then start the follow up calls. some times I will be driving and notice a place, but not be dressed good enuogh do just pop in. I will get the name of company and then call them. but thats basicly for the commercial and industrial cleaning... for the carpet cleaning, cold calls to companys can work, those no's can get you down a little, but that one yes makes up for it. the yellow page & post cards are pretty good. there brief and quick. if the yellow page has to many ads for carpet cleaners, then instead invest more in the direct mailing of post cards. also advertizing in the most popular local newspaper, everybody reads the paper.
