Screen Burn is an aluminum oxide deposit on glass resulting from the weathering of aluminum screens. It can be removed by oven cleaner, 0000 steel wool at times, and an optical grade polishing slurry based on a cerium, aluminum oxide powder, or a silica. Remember the silica must be optical grade. It helps too if the particles have been treated so thsy are attracted to water for an even blend with water. I prefer the optical slurry since it cannot attack white vinyl window frames or sash. It can be used along with 0000 steel wool too.
