We have an estimate tomorrow on a residential. Dunno if is just outside or inside & out or if tracks & screens are involved. She says 20 windows of unknown size... so do you charge for size? Like, sliding glass door v.s. 2x2ft? And how much for screens and slider tracks? What would you charge for all 4 options?

I would charge $40 for just the outside, $65 Inside and Out and a buck per screen if she already has it removed you just brush and hose it down. Non removed $2.00 bucks per screen. When we do window washing pricing instad of confusing the customer we always charge them same price regarding what size window.

OK Kevin.... So we bid the job (22-24) windows, inside & out with screens (screens only sprayed off with high pressure hose) at $75.00..... and the lady, Randi is her name, ups the price to $100.00 if we will do on Saturday morning the 25th. Never had that happen before! LOL! She has 4 dogs (breeds these ugly little dogs... think she is trying to come up with her own) and says she really should have her carpet cleaned. Told her we do that too. Then she says she is looking for a housekeeper. We told her we clean residentials too. Could get quite a bit of work from her. Her husband passed about 6 months ago after a short illness and now she is playing catch-up with cleaning & maintenance. For now we just have the window job, but we'll see.

You know this brings up a good point. First though good job.. on getting the job. I will keep on saying this forever. If you are a friendly customer service orientated business and do quality work, keep adding on services and learning new services that you can perform. Use subcontractors in the begining, or rent equipment if you can not afford to purchase the equipment for the job. People like to deal with one company for everything. It is so convienent. I have residential customers who use purity for gutter cleaning, etc. I have janitorial supply purchasers who buy carpet cleaning. Once you add on services cross promote. Give your current customers a special on the services they normally would not use. Keep good records on your customers. You should know when your customers last special service was, for example if it was a residential household cleaning customer, who purchased window washing, make a deal with him or her/ provide it at a special cost monthly, while your already there cleaning the house. If you do have add on services, and your customers do not purchase them ask why, and do as much suggestive selling as possible. How many times have you heard you want fries with that coke?

In vancouver,wa the price per window is $8.00 inside and out. If the window is hard to get to it is extra charge like $5.00 for that window. Small windows be nice look at the whole house and make it your choice.
