i really can't believe some of the price differences around the country. they are very different. it is deffinately something to consider when bidding national contracts i would think.

One of our employees came from another company that imposed fines and we copied their rule. It's not written in any agreement but I have it posted. We're not talking 10 - 25 dollar fines, it's more like .50 to 1.00 per item. In most case we don't because we have a lot in the same area, what I do is when I go bid on something off our route I knock doors and try and get several in that area so it pays us to drive their. Usually I can snag something right. Another thing we do is If an employee brings someone to us to work and we hire them we give a 25.00 bonus if they stay 90 day we give another 25.00 bonus and if they stay 6 months we give them another 50.00, so they can make 100.00 for referring a friend to work for us. If they bring a client I give them a nice commission depending on the account do you pay travel time or does that not apply because of account locations? also, very interested about the fine thing too. how does that work and is it an invention of Double A or is it something you have learned from anther cleaning company?

We did some bigger car dealerships on the coast. Having someone to do there floors along with cleaning is very important. they liked them to be clean and shiny. If they want you to do there floors tell them no problem then get back to this board and talk to all the people that do floors . they will help you every step of the way. Its very scary doing your first floor job. But we all have to start somewhere. You may have to rent the equipment but if its a good account it will be worth it. I m not a floor person. But thats what I would do...

do car dealerships ask for floor care or just general cleaning. ive been kinda scaredd to bid on them cuz i know nothing about doing floors The floor care is not included in the monthly bid other than mopping or sweeping. We do give each client 1 free strip and wax or shampoo per year but it's not written in the contract and usually They find out after we've done the work that they don't get a bill. If they want stripping, buffing, burnishing, shampoo or any other floor care it's Plus Plus Plus, and they Pay Pay Pay. But you're right they want a shinny floor each and every day. we use an auto scrubber on most of the floors some nightly some weekly but most of them monthly. We have a couple of Tennant 5400 FaST Auto Scrubbers that we take with us. They work great. I also have 1 with out the FaST system but it's not as good.

Hmmmm... I think plus, plus, plus, pay, pay, pay to start, we did that free carpet cleaning.. so so results.. How about writing the seperate bid for the floor care (strip and wax) or carpet cleaning then offering a free burnishing or free spot removal? Whats going to be the new promo (hook in the mouth) of 2006?
