If starting your service what do you think the best way of phrasing it will be Janitorial or Cleaning, Service. How much time did you put into your name? Are you happy with the name of your business, do you wish you could change it ?

We are thinking of changing our name end of the year when we re-license to: Crowz Cleaning Services or Crowz Custom Cleaning. Our name was not well thought out and we keep getting calls for gardening & handyman/maintenance man stuff.....

Janitorial unless you want to do residential? We had changed our name years ago to Earley Complete Building Services from "Excalibur Cleaning". Back then I would get stuff in the mail thinking we were laundry services or a Dry cleaner. We now have people sometimes thinking we are builders??? I now wish I would have called our company Earley CLEAN Building Services. keeping the ECBS I thought using our last name kept it personal but adding Building Services made it professional? I used Complete with the thoughts of offering many services beyond cleaning? I am still working on that one hoping to form relationships with contractors like Landscapers , painters, etc.. I put thought like that into working on our logo also. We used to have a leprechaun with a broom leaning on a cityscape, but I thought that was too cartoonish for commercial so I went with what we have as an avatar here. I am reworking the logo now & will probably complete it this week. I will get feedback on it from this board.

Yes I do not like cartoons on websites either, (seems kinda kiddy) I wish purity was a city name like Detroit Cleaning and Janitorial... especially now with the way search engines work and also people call local companies, and if you have the major city you service in your name improves chances.

Yes, another post from ME! There is an outfit here in Kingman that does only strip/seal/wax. Their name is "Hot Gloss" and I really love the name!!!! The other morning, on the way from one job to another, about 5am, we stopped at Circle K (like 711 or AM/PM) for a java refill. In the parking lot was their van with the name and info on the side. For them, the name is their logo.... only I thought it was really WRONG! What does the name HOT GLOSS inspire to you? Me too...... the word "HOT" would be in orange/yellow or even cool color flames and "GLOSS" should definitely be in CAPITAL ITALICS all sleek in blue with white twinkles or highlights. It was "Hot Gloss" and the words were blood red with drops hanging off each letter!!!! I was grossed out! Bloody, sticky floors? Eeeewwww! Would you hire them on an ad like that alone if you had not seen there work? BTW, Johns very first attempt at strip/wax was better than there job at that Circle K! How do they stay in business? ?
