I have a client who would like me to put ina bid for cleaning and sealing their slate floors. About 2,000 sq ft has been sealed before but stilll looks dry (i suspect it was a water based sealer) The other 2-3,000 sq ft is new and hasn't been sealed yet. It is 18 x 18 black slate flooring. I have consulted a stone specialist who charges 2.50 - 3.00 a sq ft but being new and a commercial cleaning co. Not sure what I should charge. I figured costs to be about 900. to do the job for equipment, etc. The client is purchasing their own sealer although I am trying to get them to purchase it from me seperate outside of my bid to do the work. Any imput would be sooo helpful!

I would make sure that you sign off on the sealer before applying it. If it is a topical sealer you could be ruining the floor. Ensure that it is at the very least a recognized impregnating sealer . I always advise against sealing stone with other than natural products ie natural oils and recommend only sealing the grout lines.
