Okay I bid a new Dental office, full weekly janitorial for 350 a month which I know is low but since it is brand new, I figured it would be easier to do from the git go. The lady actually told me it was too much, and went on yelling about how she had a cheaper quote, and I was way too expensive... blah blah blah. I hate days like this.

I ran into many potential customers like that. I smiled and asked them go to Home Depot to hire cleaners. They'll save a lot of money and I left.

I would have responded to her yelling or comments with the following response: "as to compare to what?" Then thank her for her time and get up and walked out. If she said anything I would have said I think another company could be a better fit for her.
I don't want to ever be degraded by someone yelling at me over the cost of services....I will never stand for it.
Recently, on a quote a man explained to me that he wanted a company he could trust as he had caught his last 2 maids (paid under the table) were stealing from the family claiming somewhere around $8,000 worth of cash and jewelry. After writing it up and submitting it on-site he stated that my quote was a bit high. My response was "as to compare to what?"then I followed up with "I am sorry and don't mean to be rude but how much did the jewelry and cash cost you." He signed right then and there. He was nice about it ..no yelling hence why I did not recommend he seek another service.
Just my 2 cents- -Kat

I remember 1 time i bid to clean a bank. It was a fair sized building, about 3 stories high. The woman who took me around to show me what needed cleaning told me that i had to be there 5 hours per night. I also had to card in & out and she said that would show how long i was ther. So i wrote up a proposal for $250 per week/$995 per month. When you break it down, it comes out to a very low $10 per hour. I figured i was a shoo in to get it, right. Well a few weeks go by & i call her up & she tells me that i waaaay overbid. I asked her what the winning bid was & she told me $600 per month. LOL. That comes out to $150 per week or $6.00 per hour, GROSS. I told her she could have it. You get what you pay for. BTW, within 5 months there were looking for another cleaner as their $6 per hour one didnt work out. I passed on submitting a bid
