Hi Everyone, I was just wondering how you clean out a fireplace? Has anyone had to do one and how hard is it? We are trying to decide whether this would be worth adding to extra services. Can anyone please help? Thanks, Josie and Chris We don't do fireplaces at all. Fireplace cleaning is considered a specialty that I feel should be done by a chimney sweep. There is not much call for fireplaces here or I would consider research, education, and adding it to our services. An improperly cleaned fireplace can back smoke up into a residence and cause injury and smoke damage.

You could make the appointment, go prepared to work, then take a look-see around and ask exactly what she wants done, give her a quote higher than you would if she had a good attitude, then barter a bit but don't go lower than what you really want. Just a suggestion.... if you do it and she doesn't pay, bill her sister, the real estate agent, who referred her.

Patti, Ya, John & I work pretty well together. I only wish he would remember to give me receipts when he uses the company credit/ATM card and include a $25-$50 extra charge when he does a move-out/eviction/foreclosure estimate The last foreclosure we did the oven was so bad it took me almost 3 hours to clean inside/out with hood! I don't think he even looks at or inside them! Perhaps next time I should make him clean the kitchen appliances Natalie

San Francisco should be higher. We charge $15 an hour for residential & $20 an hour for commercial per person because we are in Kingman Arizona, population 50,000 which includes county ordnance and surrounding areas..... every thing is lower here. I should think the Bay Area would charge at least $25 per hour per person residential and $30 to $35 per for commercial.

BTW.... we have been in business 6 months, so only John and I to do the cleaning... no employees as yet so base our prices on $15 to $20 per person per hour. Sorry for misunderstanding!

Here in Kingman AZ prices are lower... well, pay is anyway! The house I mention is about 900 sq ft and takes 2 of us less than an hour, she is soooooo clean. And it's a Chamber of Commerce bigshot so we gave her a big discount. As a result, we get some freebee's and they alway respond quickly.
Our base price is $50.00 on a weekly, $65.00 on a bi-weekly for standard clean of a home of less than 1500 sq ft. And like I said before, it could be more if there are pets, kids, etc. or if they want more than a standard clean.
Didn't mean to scare you! LOL!

Our base price for <1500 sq ft is $50.00.... more or less depending on certian conditions.... kids, pets, distance.... this is why we like to actually see a place before giving a final price. We have a 1000 sq ft home in foothills that belongs to Chairperson of KACC that we do for $35.00 bi-weekly. She is SOOOOOOOO clean we actually feel guilty taking her $$! Now we actually call her the day before our scheduled visit and ask if she actually needs us! LOL! The only thing that was truly dirty last time we were there was her dog!

Ya, we got the LARGE Rigid (Home Depot $70.00, gotta love 'em) too. Great cleaning device for the car dealership and residential cleans with 'Arizona Rooms'. Saves time & effort with extra extensions.

First vacuum we purchased was a Bissell from Wal-Mart. Motor went in 3 months. Have 3 $100.00 Dirt Devil Ultras now.... one stays with Powr-Flite for carpet cleaning and the other 2 are in the van. I really like them.... great suction and bag-less with 1 filter that is totally cleanable. We are looking to buy their commercial vac's as we replace the old for $50 more each. They are aluminum frame and full 6 year warranty on motor and parts. We just don't have time to buy used and have repaired or repair broken vac's. I try to register all so they will be replaced free. So far so good!
Oh, we also carry a wet/dry Rigid. Works great!
