Hi,
Is $150 bi-weekly too much for a $3400 square ft home. What about the initial. The house has had cleaners and shouldn't require any major scrubbing.
Average clutter, 3 baths, 5 bedrooms, no pets, 4 occupants, 9 rooms with wall- to -wall carpet, and 3 with hardwood.
I have not looked at it yet I just want to get any idea I do the in-home estimate tomorrow.
I really want to get into this neighborhood. Please give me your opinions. If I am not prepared I will be nervous and screw it all up.
Thanx Trina

Hi I just did a small apartment today that I had bid a month ago. I felt bad bidding more then $75 for the initial because it was so small. Well it took my cleaner and I 4.25hrs . I hate it when I underbid and work for free. I also told her $50 bi-weekly. I should have bid $75 for bi-weekly and at least $135 for initial. Now that I have underbid quite a few initials thinking they were clean. I personally have found that no matter how small or how clean it appears it never takes less then 4 hrs one-person to do a thorough job. I know from now on I am not doing an initial for under $125. I have found it needs to be perfect after the initial otherwise I get complaints. So bid for the amount of time it should take to really get it clean. If I bid too low i make it perfect anyways even if I lose money. After all, it's not the client's fault I underbid. I think it is very important to make that first impression a good one. I hope this helps you. Trina www.staycleancleaning.net

How do you all work the schedule. I am getting filled up and I have one day I can do initials (it takes us an average 4 hrs 2 people). I have a girl working for me but we do all the new clients together. Even if I had her go on her own then It would be just me doing the initial. I can't afford to hire a third person, but I can't make my new clients wait 3weeks for an initial can I? Can everyone tell me how you worked new clients into the schedule when you first started getting busy. How late do you work? how early do you start? Help Trina www.staycleancleaning.net

It would take up a lot more of your time and gas. Also its much more impressive to come home and have your whole house renewed. I try to avoid letting them see it before its complete it ruins the surprise. And a lot of my customers schedule to be gone when I clean. They want it done then. They don't want to have to plan 2 days around the cleaning. Thats what I have found anyways. Trina

Thanks for the help! I got an e-mail from her today with a couple complaints. At first I was a little upset but then I realized its not her fault I underbid. So I offered to go there on my day off and clean some more. My employee thinks I am nuts, but I have to make it right. Oh by the way I did see the place briefly she showed me and walked us to the back porch. I saw it was cluttered but I had know idea everything was caked with stuck on dirt. I am new what should I look for in a walk through how do you guys do it? Trina www.staycleancleaning.net

Does anyone know some rates for the Seattle area or at least the west coast. I've been advertising on craigslist and have suddenly got bombarded with estimates. I keep underbidding I think. Today we did the worst house (1600 sq ft) I have seen. We spent 5hrs 2 people and its still filthy(my standards). It had dusty dirt stuck onto nicotine on everything. Lots of clutter and nicknack's everywhere. A 10ft kitchen wall splattered with grease. The white cabinets (16 total) were covered with dirt. Plus after we get there her note says shes allergic to bleach and we could not run the water for long because of the well. Can you believe it? I had told her $145 for initial and $80 bi-weekly I am I an idiot? Does anyone have some input? I would really appreciate it. Thank You Trina www.staycleancleaning.net

Please give me as much advice as possible. I have been cleaning homes a few times a week. I want to expand my business. I sent letters out to Apartment managers. I got some calls right away and I need help. What should I charge for carpets and blinds? I need to rent a rug doctor and do the blinds by hand. Do I need a contract per unit or will an estimate sheet be ok if I add a short agreement to perform the work and finish date? Is there anything else I need to do or know, to be completely prepared when I meet with the manager. I am working alone but I have a couple people lined up if necessary. Here is a copy of what I sent. The price as low as is for a small studio no carpets or blinds and of course I will need proof for the beat by 10% offer. Can someone give me some guidelines for pricing. PLEASE HELP! ______________________________ I am the owner of StayClean a local cleaning service. I’m offering some excellent promotional rates to apartment managers/owners in the area. Please consider allowing me to take care of your cleaning responsibilities. StayClean guarantees satisfaction and is fully insured, licensed and bonded. We are highly recommended and will gladly provide references. At this time a Move-out Deep Cleaning is priced as low as $135. And I will beat the price of your current cleaner by 10% or more for the same service. We also offer steam carpet cleaning and blind cleaning at a very affordable rate. StayClean won’t tie you into any binding contracts, so give us a try! If your interested please contact me at the number (s) above. I will answer any of your questions or set up a free estimate with no obligation. Thank You for your time. I hope to hear from you soon. Sincerely, Trina Bowen StayClean Cleaning Service _____________________________________________ Thanx for any advice you can give me. Trina www.staycleancleaning.net

Hi, Could someone please tell me what I should include in a company packet. I would like to present something to new customers at the time of the estimate, also take it around to local businesses that might need my services. If anyone has some samples they could send me to give me some ideas that would be great. Right now all I have is fliers and a business card which include my website address. thanx Trina www.staycleancleaning.net

What is the best for getting no wax kitchen floors with a lot of little grooves in them clean? I found ammonia and water is good but it stinks. A lot of my customers are retired people who never go anywhere so I work when they are there. I don't want to asphyxiate them got any suggestions.

How beneficial is it to have a website? Does it generate a lot of business? How would I get one set up and what would my expenses be.
If you can't tell I'm new to the whole "owning your own cleaning business thing". Been in business 2 months. I have 6 customers all through word of mouth. I need more....please help.
Thanx,
