Saw this on GCA post by ChrisC www.globalcleaningassoc.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=867 recent post by Phoenix got me thinking about some of the questions new commercial co's have about the bidding process. These are all points that have been posted in the various forums we have used (ok, most of the posts were by Ken ) over the past couple years and I learned from them. Here's what I came up with off the top of my head. Please, everyone, feel free to add to the list. Commercial Bidding Tips Commercial accounts should be bid and billed as a monthly fee as your customers pay invoices on a monthly basis. As general rule of thumb facilities less than 25,000 square feet are figured by the amount of time it will take to clean while facilities over 25,000 are generally priced by the square foot. The average productivity rate for commercial cleaning is 3,750 square feet per hour. Medical/Dental, Industrial and dense areas normally have a lower productivity rate. Other factors that will lower productivity: Plush type carpet opposed to commercial grade Hard surface flooring opposed to commercial grade carpeting Wood grain desks/furniture that require polishing as opposed to Formica work surfaces Lower frequency of cleaning 1 day opposed to 3 or 5 days per week Figuring your productivity rate on various types of jobs will enable you to bid more competitively. IJCSA- This is some great information!
