What type of things do you do that you feel separates you from your competition? They could be small simple things or bigger things you feel you do. What would you like to do in the future?

we really clean, lol. just kidding. I think what separates my business from the rest, is not so much the services, we do just about everything for cleaning, from Daily Janitorial cleaning, floor care, carpet care, windows, a lot. I think what separates us, is we always put the customer first, we always try and see it through the customers eye. we not only give them the best cleaning for there dollar, but we also give them a great experience. where open minded, where honest, were flexible, and our main concern is the complete satisfaction of the customer. here is something I put on my website and actually tell customers, because i believe it. Our company policy is one page, very easy to read, and to understand. First and only page The Customer is our #1 priority. The customer is the one who puts food on our table. The customer is the one who signs our pay checks. The customer is the one who pays our bills The customers are the ones who decide if we stay or go. The customers are the ones who keep us in business. There is only one boss, the customer. And he or she can fire everybody in the company, from the owner on down, simple by spending there money some where else. So therefore, The customer is our first and foremost #1 priority. I tell the employees this, and tell them to remember that, when there cleaning there facility.

Okay,
We have a kick butt on-going training program. My cleaners know more than the salesman!
We know how to clean offices correctly, disinfect, kill bacteria, insects, mold ect: empty trash is easy--- keeping their employees healthy--- thats what they want!!! And it is not that much more work!

Sometimes the simplest things make a big difference. For example every time we go into a house to bid on a carpet job we remove our shoes or wear booties over our shoes. Even though the carpet may be dirty the customer sees right off that we respect their space. When we go onto a carpet job the first thing we do once inside is to put corner guards around all corners and door jams to protect their paint. Another WOW!!! by the customer, saying I never saw anyone do that before. I believe in showing respect to the customer. Most new clients will say, we will for sure use you again before we ever even start cleaning the carpet. We also vacuum before spraying the carpet with pre spray to remove a big part of the dirt, sand, debris from carpet. Thats right , another WOW!!! WE also leave customer a 12 oz bottle of spot cleaner with our name and number printed on the label so that it want get lost like business cards. Another WOW!!! By the customer. As a final WOW we offer them a pair of booties so if they need to walk on carpet before it is dry. Spot cleaner is about $1.70 and booties about 50 cents a pair. That equals two WOWS!!! for $2.20. Not a bad investment.

very smart. you are the kind of person i would want cleaning my rugs.....(if you can match the free price i get...lol) those are ALL really good ideas to obtain new customers and keep them for a very long time. referals must be a big part of your business. do you use corner protectors to protect the walls from possible damage from a vacuum or chemical hose or a cord?

Corner guards are about 16" tall. They are hard plastic that are shaped to fit around corner with a small lip a bottom to hold them upright. We use them to keep hoses from rubbing against corners. They come in different colors. I am partial to orange because I am a Big Orange Fan . (colledge football) Even if we did have our worst season ever.
PS. Also use door jam guards. They are a flexible palstic that wraps around the whole door frame.I get them from interlinksupply. Check them out to see what they look like and then check with IJSCA sponsors to see if they have them.

Do you actually use those Dan ? Sounds questionable to me. Just a Suggestion. Nothing meant. I guess another marketing idea .

I definitely use them. With out a question. Would never go into a resident with out them. Believe 100% in them. I see the paint chip and rub marks on corners where hoses have rubbed. Pay attention on your next carpet job and see how many time a hose comes in contact with corners. This is not just a market idea. It is preventive measures to protect your self as well as clients home. We also put them around corners of any large items such as hutch or anything else that hose may be pulled around.

Seriously , buy two of these corner guards. They are not very expensive at all. Walk in and sit them at the first two corners you come to while customer is watching and see if they don't say ," WOW what are those?". "I never seen anyone use them". "Thats a great Idea." What have you got to lose except some nicks on the corners.
