YAWN...If you were just an employee yes But let me tell you newbie this is not what happens as a service owner. Business does not revolve around you. You getting up at 3:30 in the afternoon, calling back a couple of messages then going cleaning. Your service will never amount to much. The majority of the decision makers that award you accounts are 9-5ers. Remember this because it is important. You have to do a daytime schedule along with a night time schedule. Another thing, the phone, if someone is calling you for service and nobody answers because your in dreamland that can be a loss of revenue, that can be the big account. On a personal note: If I call a contractor and nobody answers between 9-5 I know I'm dealing with a small time operator. Always answer your phone during these hours, If you can not possibly do it make sure your voice mail or phone system reflects a professional message. Heres the system we use, also more and more account managers are starting work as early as 7a.m. ANSWER THE PHONE www.gotvmail.com

Good point. I haven't been waking up nearly as early as I should for a while now (lack of work does this to me). I get some calls from my home phone and most people leave messages. Though, when I do have work, I am up on time (with exception to Last Friday ). A lot of my off time is spent trying to make promotional items, set up flyers, research, etc. Great post. Everyone needs to be reminded of this.
