One of my customers son had a pen in his back pocket that leaked out threw his pants and onto every chair he sat in, in the house. Any ideas on the best way to remove it from upholstered chairs? Kim

We use Prochem Solvink followed by extraction. Always try new chemicals in a inconspicuous place. When one of our customers had a whole ink jar explode, we were able to remove all of it from chairs and carpet. It really works well.

We use All- Solve in an aerosol can. Works well . You need to do this on dry material first. Mist onto spot and vacuum off. Do not allow dwell time. repeat till spot is removed then rinse with water using extractor. Some materials even after testing may start to fade color if overworked on.Upholstery can be very tricky. A spot belongs to the customer until you start working on it. If spot spreads, material fades, shrinks, or any other damage it now belongs to you and you may end up buying some furniture. I would suggest that anyone doing upholstery cleaning check around and a find a class that is designed for upholstery cleaning before starting into this business. I know a lot can be learned from this forum but upholstery can be very tricky and expensive. A lot of new materials on market today. Some wet cleanable and some dry cleanable. Some of the customers may not know. I bought a living room suite last year. I asked the salesperson if it was dry clean only. He said no you can wet clean it. I showed him a label on couch that said dry clean only. He said he didn't know that. You can not always tell by some labels. They may actually be telling you what the cushion is made out of. Just some of my thoughts and opinions. I am sure there are several members who have been successfully cleaning upholstery with out ever going to a class. Just wanted you to know there is much to learn.
