If you accept credit & debit payments, do you need to set an account up with each credit card company first or if you're using PayPal, can this step be skipped?
I was reading on the Visa and MasterCard websites that they want you to contact an acquierer first and then set up an account through them. There are fees and a month or more wait before you can accept these types of payments if you do it this way.
Has anyone done this yet? Do I need it if I only accept these types of payments through PayPal?
Thanks, Nicole

Nicole PayPal is a third party payment processor. If you are going to use PayPal you don't need to do any of that other stuff. People can pay you through PayPal with most major credit cards and with debit cards. PayPal takes care of everything. All you have to do is set up a business account with PayPal and get the code for your website and you are done. Patti
