Ok let's say I will clean for a small office building like about 1200 sq ft. to be cleaned 5 days a week.... if I will use sq. ft method -- let's say I will charge .035 per sq ft. and it will take 2 hours to clean each day.... so my bid will have to be $84.00 per cleaning... so that will be $420/week, $1680 per month. Is this fair enough? Or should I go a bit lower bec. of frequency of cleaning? Also, how do you come up with a price breakdown per cleaning (or per week) -- labor + materials + insurance = subtotal x 6% sales tax = total.... I will appreciate your responses on this.

That sounds about twice as much as we would bid. $ 42 per hour is high.

I didn't check the area the poster is in but what he charges should be related to what the market will bear in his area. You can't compare the prices someone in New York would command with the prices someone in Acton, Ontario could command. If he knows his competition and can get those dollars, go for it. However, make sure you know your competition. Again, labour + employer expenses + materials + profit equals the price you charge.
Bill (My two cents worth.)
