;D Hey guys, i'm still in the process of getting this business rolling, i have the trade nmae registered, ein, flyers, cards, some equipment, and getting the bank account, My question is can anyone direct me on whet type of insurance am i going to need, its just me and another guy doing the work, and if you could recommend some insurance companies that are reasonable. You should only need liability. How much liabililty will depend on what you are going to be doing- houses, offices, etc. Houses will not require a lot, but some offices will require $1M. If you want to protect yourself against personal injury, you may need workman's comp. When you get info about the insurance coverage, see if it will cover your person. Most won't. Do a search on the web. I found one at www.lowquotes.com. Some will come in very high and some will be just right. If you are just doing homes, you should come in around $5-700, higher for commercial. However, this will also vary depending on if you are in a big city or rural area. Good luck! Who ever you get your insurance from, be sure to ask for "Lost Key coverage"...mine cost me about 100 bucks a year but I would rather pay that than a locksmith to replace a clients locks etc...
And make sure you specifically ask if the liability insurance covers product liablity. So if you happen to make a mistake by using the wrong product and damage the client's property then your covered.
