*sigh* Well, it was bound to happen and it did. I was thinking I was doing great...3 new residential customers in one week! I went and cleaned for them all. One had me back the following week, the other two agreed to bi-weekly cleanings and seemed happy with our work.
Over the weekend, Mardi (my business partner and fiance) suggested I call one of them to make sure she would be available when her next cleaning was due (Monday, the holiday). I got no answer, but told her machine that unless we heard back from her, we would be there Monday. Monday morning I called and still no answer, but headed out anyway. A few miles down the road, she calls and says, that Monday isn't going to work for her. I say we have another customer in her area and how about Friday. She says that will be fine. I get home and there's an email from her, saying that our services would no longer be necessary. She says that we're both very nice and professional, but we just didn't get everything as clean as she thought we could. I was bummed. My first lost customer and after only one cleaning! I know we did a very good job. Oh well.
Just out of curiosity I call the other new customer whom we were supposed to clean for today. She says she's on the phone and can she call me back? She calls back and says there must be some mistake because she is trying out another cleaner that day. I did a Spring Clean for her and was supposed to come back every 2 weeks after that. She signed the bid form stating such.
I am so bummed! I don't know what I did differently than I do on any other cleaning and my previous customers are very happy with my work. Any advice, anyone?
